Try this recipe to achieve the taste similar to Halal Cart (NYC) chicken and rice.
Servings: 3-4 people
Chicken (1.5-2 lbs) – Mix below ingredients in a bag or bowl
- “Medit Chicken” Spiceganic seasoning (1.5-2 tablespoons or to your preference)
- 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 table spoon of fresh lemon juice (optional)
- 1-2 cloves of fresh garlic (optional)
Basmati Rice – Mix below ingredients to a rice cooker
- 1.5 cup (rice measuring cup) of washed rice
- 2 tablespoon of butter
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and 1/4 teaspoon cumin or “Medit Chicken” Spiceganic seasoning (3/4 teaspoon)
- Add 2 cups of chicken broth
- Add salt and pepper (optional)
White Sauce – Mix below ingredients in a bowl
- 1/2 cup of mayonaise
- 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped garlic to taste
- 1-2 teaspoon of dill (optional)
